A little about me: My name is Maurits Rol, MD, and Control Over Anxiety is my private mental health practice. I specialize in helping adults with anxiety problems. Since the pandemic my practice has changed to all online visits. Video clinic visits are on a HIPAA secure connection.
I am a board certified psychiatrist with more than 30 years of experience. I grew up in Virginia and earned my medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. I did my psychiatry residency at the University of Hawaii, which helped me appreciate working with people from many different cultures. I first became interested in Anxiety Disorders in residency in the 1980s, and have specialized in this area ever since then. After getting enchanted by a previous visit, I moved to New Mexico in 1988. Besides private practice, my work experience includes 20 years at the Albuquerque VA Medical Center. While at the VA, I also had a position as Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at UNM School of Medicine. Besides family and pets, I also love using computers for making digital art in various forms. Nothing is more rewarding than being able to help someone else, and for me that means psychiatry, that is what I do best.
